JRBC History

The longest running baseball camp in SWFL, the JRBC has already instructed more than 11,600 campers since 1988. Most notable alumni include Carmen Cali (L) Chris Resop and David Peterson.  The first two are the  first athletes from  Collier County, FL to ever play in MLB. And Peterson is now a starting pitcher for the NY Mets. In addition to those three, more than 200 former campers have advanced to compete at the collegiate and/or professional ranks.

PLEASE READ: COVID-19 INFORMATION, JRBC GUIDELINES & FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (below)

Juan Romero Baseball Camp: Coronavirus/COVID-19

  • The novel coronavirus, COVID-19 has been declared a worldwide pandemic. COVID-19 is extremely contagious and is believed to spread primarily from contact with other people. Federal and state health agencies recommend social distancing and strongly encourage that groups of people be limited to ten or fewer.
  • The Juan Romero Baseball Camp (JRBC) has put in place preventative measures to reduce the potential spread of COVID-19; however, the JRBC cannot guarantee that your child(ren) nor anyone else attending the baseball camp will not become infected with COVID-19. In addition, attending the JRBC could pose a greater risk of contracting COVID-19.
  • By registering for the JRBC, I acknowledge the contagious nature of COVID-19 and voluntarily assume the risk that my child(ren) and I may be exposed to or become infected by COVID-19 by attending the JRBC and that such exposure or infection may result in illness, personal injury, permanent disability and death. I also understand that the risk of exposure or infection from COVID-19 at the JRBC may result from the actions, omissions, or negligence of myself or others, including, but not limited to, the JRBC Director and the coaching staff, volunteers, program participants and their families (Claims).
  • I voluntarily agree to assume all of the foregoing risks and accept full responsibility for any injury to my child(ren) or myself (including, but not limited to, personal injury, illness, disability and death), damage, loss, claim, liability, or expense of any kind, that I or my child(ren) may experience in connection with attendance or participation at the JRBC events. On my behalf, and on behalf of my family, I hereby release, covenant to sue, discharge, and hold harmless the JRBC, the JRBC Director, the coaches, volunteers, agents, and representatives, of and from the Claims, including all liabilities, claims, actions, damages, costs or any type of expenses arising or related thereto. I fully understand and agree that this release includes any Claims based on the actions, omissions, or negligence of the JRBC, its Director, coaches, volunteers, agents, and representatives, regardless of whether a COVID-19 infection occurs before, during, or after participation in any JRBC event.

  • Note: Should your child test positive for COVID-19, you must notify Coach Romero at 239-732-9664.

THE NEW JUAN ROMERO BASEBALL CAMP GUIDELINES

  • The goal of the JRBC is to try and keep everyone healthy by reducing interpersonal contact to limit potential exposure to the COVID-19 virus. Our biggest concern will always be the safety of your child and that of our staff. For that reason, we will implement the following guidelines:

1. Parents/Guardians will check the temperature of each camper at home before arriving to camp each day. Should a camper have a fever of 100.3 F or above or have any COVID-19 symptoms,  he/she will stay home and Coach Romero will be notified immediately at 239-732-9664. Please leave us a message if we are unavailable.

2. We strongly recommend that the campers bring sanitizers to camp daily.

3.  All personal equipment, including bags and hats, must have full name on them.

4.  Baseballs - Each team will have a bucket of balls assigned to them during an entire camp session.

5.   Family members may visit the camp. However, we ask you to please  maintain a proper distance and bring your own chairs. The campers will need all available bleacher space for their equipment and for social distancing to start and finish the day.

6.  All campers and coaches will wash hands approximately every 30 minutes. However, face masks are NOT mandatory for the baseball camps.

7.  Teams will maintain social distancing during: instruction, water breaks, restroom use, batting cage areas, and games. Dugouts will never have more than one team at a time.

8.  Campers check in upon arrival and sit in the designated areas by teams.

9. NO sunflower seeds will be allowed at the facilities.

10.  Campers bring their own bats, gloves, hats, etc. and never share personal items, including water bottles.

11. Campers must wait in designated area near concession stand for their ride home at 1 pm. Parents are encouraged to arrive early to watch the games.

12. Parent or legal guardian, just a reminder that you are holding harmless the Juan Romero Baseball Camp, the JRBC Director, the JRBC coaches and staff, for any potential contagious disease acquired while participating in any JRBC event in 2022.

Thanks for following these guidelines. Our biggest concern will always be the safety of your child and that of the JRBC coaching staff.

Reminder: Due to space limitations, we may NOT be able to include all potential campers in any or all JRBC events in 2022. Please register early to secure a roster spot.

Yours in baseball,

Juan Romero

JRBC Director
